Spitfire is very excited to be launching the latest in a series of new offerings in its iconic Music Trailblazers series: the collaboration with Fanshawe One World Music under the direction of Jane Fanshawe. The Earth Encountered collection, of which this is the first volume, has produced a unique and extraordinary collection of recordings. The collection will help support the ongoing work to prepare the incredible archive, which is David's gift, to eventually establish as a premier resource for researchers and musicians around the world. This work includes cataloguing and digitising the entire archive, with the aim of finding a permanent home in a national museum or within a university.

The selections are in David Fanshawe – Earth Encountered Volume 1 in such a way that they can be pitched up and down, played at different speeds, and much more. The Spitfire audio team also has an amazing section on the 'warped' content, where they have taken the original recordings and created a variety of interesting sounds, from ethereal beats to distorted beats, and anything in between. These sounds are loaded into two differently designed 'engines', each of which caters to different approaches to sound processing.
The first provides an easy way to add "everyday" effects such as chorus, delay, distortion, EQ, filtering, phasing and reverb to original content, as well as more radical sound-deforming controls (in the Swing and Yoke sections). The distorted content creatively benefits from Spitfire Audio's powerful proprietary EDNA (Electronic DNA) engine - as demonstrated in the earlier EDNA01-Earth version, which includes separate and independent modulators; controls for trim, bend, slide, clone, tune and ADSR; swing for pitch, volume and filter; as well as a gating and sequencing section with full control over amount, shape, speed and length; 34 custom effects and impulse responses; and the ability to crossfade between two selected sounds, with additional speed and phase control capabilities... How adventurous can you be?
