This piano will feel right at home in your template, whether as a workhorse piano for scoring and sketching, or as your go-to tool for those tender and emotive musical moments.

Known for our distinctive prepared piano sounds, we were often asked to create a library capturing the pure tone of an orchestral grand. As composers, we aimed for a piano focused on the softer end of the dynamic range, perfect for emotive scoring.

We returned to the same hall as Midnight Grand and Glacier Keys to capture the Steinway D Concert Grand in its pristine form. Without the felt or extended techniques used in our previous pianos, Spotlight Piano retains the Fracture Sounds' sonic signature with even more detail and nuance.

Designed for delicate, cinematic music, Spotlight Piano offers intuitive sonic shaping and performance controls, alongside 21 carefully curated presets, making it versatile enough for various musical styles.

The Steinway Model D is celebrated as the premier concert grand, favoured by pianists and composers worldwide. We recorded this majestic instrument in a beautifully balanced acoustic space, capturing its rich, controlled, and spacious sound.

Sixteen strategically placed microphones, both close to the piano and throughout the hall, offer four distinct perspectives—Close (hammers and body), Mid, and Far. This setup provides a diverse range of sonic options, from an intimate studio sound to a grand recital ambience.

The library includes our user-friendly mixer panel, offering three signal options that you can adjust individually with their sliders or blend seamlessly using the 'Perspective' slider to shift between close and distant mixes.

For those seeking more control, our new Advanced Mix Settings panel allows for precise time alignment to address natural delays between the close, mid, and far signals, as well as a close mic blend to balance the body and hammers positions.

Spotlight Piano introduces full customization of the instrument's dynamic response, allowing you to tailor the piano's character to your preferences or match your MIDI keyboard's feel.

With intuitive graph controls, you can independently adjust timbre (sample selection) and volume scaling. For easier access to the loudest dynamics, simply drag up on the middle of the timbre scaling graph to modify the curve. If you prefer a softer, 'felt piano' sound with complete dynamic control, lower the 'max' slider to restrict the instrument to its softest range.
