This is the most advanced orchestral library, Steinberg provides an easy way to add orchestral elements to any type of musical style and create beautiful symphonic works.

The library includes all the single instruments and instrument sections of a symphony orchestra, Iconica Sections & Players comes with five string sections (Violin I, Violin II, Viola, Cello and Double Bass). There is also a selection of woodwind instruments, solo and ensemble brass, and orchestral percussion. The harp, which cannot be missed in a modern symphony orchestra, completes these fine instruments.

To provide this premier orchestral sample library, Steinberg approached specialist company Orchestral Tools and collaborated to develop Iconica Sections and Players. While Steinberg focused on usability and scripting through an advanced and easy-to-use user interface, Orchestral Tools recorded and edited over 150 GB of samples while combining a wide range of expressions and clear timbres.

“Iconica is an absolutely versatile orchestra. It is ideally suited for a wide range of genres thanks to the multifaceted sound of Berlin’s Funkhaus studio and its fluid playability,” says Jan Lepold, General Manager of Orchestral Instrument Tools.

A total of 76 musicians were involved in the recording in Studio 2 of Berlin’s renowned Funkhaus studio, using different microphone positions to capture every nuance of the instruments’ timbre. Iconica also offers the new Adaptive True Legato technology to ensure realistic sound when playing legato, as well as the Tuning Scale function for tuning to a number of different scales, while the VST 3 standard provides the Note Expression and Expression Map functions for creating unique textures.

Iconica Sections & Players is compatible with HALion 6, HALion Sonic 3 and the included HALion Sonic SE. It works standalone or as a plug-in in every DAW that supports VST 3, AAX or AU plug-ins.
