TAIKOS X3M About Taikos X3M One of our main goals was to capture consistent Round Robins for as many playing techniques as possible, in order to be able to write quickly, but at the same time achieve smooth and realistic percussion arrangements. To achieve this, we carefully hand-edited each sample of the 10 Round Robins and made as many iterations as needed after extensively testing the articulations in a real composition environment. In addition to this, an important goal was to expand the Taikos sound palette by adding other instruments that would enhance the sound of the Taikos, but not change the aesthetic of its basic sound too much. So, TAIKOS X3M doesn't just include the same sounds we've heard countless times before, but also new, never-before-heard instrument combinations to breathe life into your percussion arrangements. Recording took place at Sofia Session Studio, where we also recorded previous X3M libraries, for smooth and easy layering. X3M Percussion EngineThe concept behind this engine is very simple – the keyboard area is divided into 12 zones, to which you can assign different sounds. Once you've created a template of your choice, just plug in and play – nothing else is needed! In addition, the engine allows you to tweak individual zones, as well as the entire mapped ensemble sound, including various effects and microphone positions. Combine this with the natural, organic recordings, and you have maximum flexibility in terms of sound. Upon loading the X3M Ensemble Builder, all samples in the "Samples" directory are automatically loaded. However, the way the instrument is built actually clears all samples unless you load them into a zone. This means that not only do you have a single sound with all the percussion types you need, but it's also optimized so that it doesn't eat up your memory resources in any way! |
