Orange Tree Samples proudly presents Evolution Rick, a deeply sampled electric bass guitar sample library. At the core of Evolution Rick is a massive collection of samples, complemented by powerful scripts. These two aspects work in unison to give you ultra-realistic bass sounds with minimal effort.
Evolution Rick has chromatic samples per string, meaning each fret is sampled individually. It features 32x round-robin and three morphing velocity layers for a smooth dynamic range. It features time-dependent release samples (15 different release times sampled), as well as time-dependent legato samples. The legato samples include hammer-on and pull-off articulations, which are sampled chromatically up to upward minor thirds and downward minor thirds, as well as chromatic half-step slides. These legato samples were sampled at up to eight different transition times. They also sampled muted notes (8x round-robin), pre-roll samples (32x round-robin), muted slap samples (8x round-robin, 8 velocities), and slap releases (4x round-robin). The slap releases are sampled chromatically on each string, so they are specific release transitions from sustained notes.
They spent a lot of time making the interface and engine as flexible and customizable as possible without giving up instant playability. Essentially, giving you full control over how mapping, tone, and other settings work, but leaving everything set to defaults so it's easy to load and start playing with minimal tweaks.
This is one of the main reasons they included built-in effects to recreate a full bass rig, covering amp/cab modeling, EQ, compressor, and bass chorus effects. This way you can get a full bass tone straight out of your sample library, with the option to bypass the internal effects in favor of using an external guitar effects processor of your choice.
And, many factors can be automated using smart scripting, such as an advanced fretting selection algorithm. However, if you wish to bypass this feature at any time, they've included the ability to manually select the string you want to play notes on.
