THE ENGIMA
Invented in 1928 by Maurice Martenot, the Ondes Martenot was refined and later models remained in production until 1988.
The Ondes Martenot was used in many film scores first dating from 1931; Odna by Shostakovich, Lawrence of Arabia (1962), A Passage to India (1984), and recent films such as Amélie (2001) and There Will Be Blood (2007) by Jonny Greenwood.
Soniccouture's Ondes brings the original into the 21st century with phase-locked single note sampling of each oscillator, the 3 unique speaker cabinets, as well as a polyphonic version and MPE support.
Multiple MIDI performance options mean that you can bring lifelike expression to the Ondes whatever your hardware set-up.
The main instrument panel contains controls for each of the 7 oscillators + 'Tutti' switch, send controls for each of the 3 Ondes speakers, ADSR envelope control (optional, depending on Setup), Brightness control - switchable to 12db Filter with resonance, Detune, Width and Saturation faders

THE POLY ONDES
The Ondes Instrument - Poly Ondes
The Poly-Ondes is a polyphonic synth using the Ondes Martenot oscillators and speaker modelling : create fabulous vintage pad sounds with full LFO and filter modulation, detune all 7 oscillators and play them back through the speakers for an incredibly characterful sound. There are 50 Poly-Ondes presets showing the FULL sound design possibilities.

THE LOUDSPEAKERS
A large part of the Ondes' sonic character are the 3 loudspeakers that amplify the instrument.
D1: A conventional, if slightly lo-fi, speaker cabinet.
D2: A speaker with 3 metal springs inside, which create a spring reverb type effect.
D3: The most exotic of the three; Le Metallique. This is essentially a speaker with a metal cymbal for a cone.
The Soniccouture Ondes instrument features convolution modelling of these cabinets, which can be blended creatively within the instrument.
