Frank Ricotti is one of the most sought-after percussionists in the world. He has scored countless films including Inception, Skyfall, Twilight, Madagascar, Star Trek, The Chronicles of Narnia, Mr. Fox and The Dark Knight.
Marimba
A direct descendant of the xylophone, the marimba closely resembles its ancestor. While composers have only begun to use this instrument in large numbers since 1950, it has recently begun to become part of the modern orchestra. The playing techniques of the marimba are exactly the same as the xylophone, but the marimba's tone is softer and deeper, resulting in a different kind of music.

It's not easy to record or produce a truly convincing glockenspiel, so our extensive microphone array gives you an alternative to plug-ins to get the sound you want, from round, bell-like to bright, sparkling.
Xylophone
This is a bright-sounding wooden stick-like instrument similar to the marimba. Whether climbing the stairs in Tom and Jerry cartoons, providing high-end sound effects in a great system percussion session, or creating a dark, malevolent atmosphere in a Jon-Brion composition, the mallet collection would not be complete without this original tuned percussion instrument.
